Our "World Of Work" (WOW) Course provides a series of twelve topic workshops chosen to further explore the essential skills necessary to thrive in business, often whilst undertaking an apprenticeship scheme or graduate programme. It can be run in half days or full days depending on your preference. These critical skills necessary for success in the world of work, will be explored and practiced in a friendly and inspiring environment, creating an interactive learning experience lead by industry professionals, entrepreneurs and relevant speakers.
Resilience is a fundamental skill which enables you to bounce back from challenging situations. We introduce techniques that assist in providing the coping mechanisms to overcome both every day and more difficult life situations. We explore what resilience is and how adaptability may impact decision making ability. Being resilient and learning from mistakes will increase your self-esteem giving you the confidence to grow in productivity and performance. The world is changing in so many ways, from communication, transportation to incredible breakthroughs in tech and science. The ability to deal with everyday change can only be an attractive quality to have and is fast becoming the number one essential skill required by businesses and the working world.

Is there anything you can do to help you on your way to finding how your strengths, passions and unique super-powers combine to help you enjoy what you do every day? This workshop will introduce the idea of identifying your passions and your purpose in life: helping you to be the best that you can be - whatever that may be...By understanding these parts of you; it will have an impact on both your working and personal life. It may change throughout your life, but there’s likely to be a link - a thread that weaves through it all. This course aims to ignite the fire to explore what lights you up in life - the start of your journey in pursuit of growth.
This course combines the powerful principles of negotiation and communication, persuasion and influence to help develop skills and knowledge. Through our innovative framework, we show you how to develop yourself; your presentation skills, effective speaking style and body-language in formal and informal contexts using engaging and influential communication. By applying simple tools and techniques you will easily build confidence and credibility. Effective communication is crucial to negotiation and relationship building. The ability to listen, ask pertinent questions and display credibility and confidence is a fundamental part of the subtle mix of skills needed to succeed in the world of business.
Successful networking needs to be a continuous activity - it needs to happen all the time to develop and maintain your networks. To the new generation so used to hiding behind technology, networking may feel daunting at first, but we will show them that it is easier than they first think - by building on relationships with people from a point of common interest. Research suggests we generally prefer to do business with people we know. Building a rapport with someone can result in working relationships or acquaintances that can ultimately lead to collaboration - for the benefit of a shared objective, project or goal. As people’s skill sets are becoming increasingly specialised, collaboration is becoming more important than ever, making teamwork more successful and productive.
A rapidly changing world of work and increasing technological opportunities around us means there is much more need for innovation and creativity. Along with adaptability and collaboration, the need to innovate has risen into one of the top social skills sought after in the workplace. This workshop looks at the fundamental differences between them and the need for these, for both individuals and business to flourish. It introduces practical, key methodology to nurture and develop these skills to enable a better understanding and the confidence to bring new and innovative ideas into the workplace and beyond.
Critical thinking is becoming much more necessary in our increasingly complex world. The analysis and evaluation of facts to form a judgment or answer to an issue is a characteristic that can be developed and is a skill that can be honed with practice. We introduce a logical guide with straight-forward concepts; enabling you to understand and develop an attitude of curiosity, observation, questioning, challenge, reflection and creativity; leading to a reasoned response. The best mind is one that thinks and doesn't accept. Those who can express their ideas clearly without doubt, will be highly sought after in this currently evolving world taking responsibility and being accountable for their decision making
Every person is unique and has their own contribution to give to the world. Mindset is so important to how a person makes a difference and fulfils their potential in work and life. An agile, positive mindset is an asset to both individuals and businesses. A "can do" attitude is priceless and can build motivation and resilience. It's especially important if the work takes place in a fast-paced, stressful work environment. You can change your mindset and according to research studies, you can train your brain through practice and learning. The understanding and exploration of mindset and positivity is a thread that weaves through all our workshops and courses
Sleep is vitally important to every human being's health and wellness. The affects of sleep deprivation have a bearing on not only your health and happiness but also on overall performance. Sleep improves memory, cognitive ability and emotional wellbeing. These workshops are run by a Sleep Expert and will help you, your apprentices and employees to optimise your sleep in a way that helps boost mood, performance and productivity.
Everyone faces stress or pressure at some point in their life (whether personal or work related) but it is how you react and cope in the face of this that determines how you ultimately manage it. Our workshop introduces proactive, pre-emptive stress management strategies, which help you to recognise, reframe and reset even mild stress-related triggers and behaviours and build resilience. You will use your new understanding of stress to drive you forward rather than define your limits.
By using emotional information to aid thinking and behaviour you can manage or adjust those emotions to adapt to new environments or achieve certain goals. Empathy is typically associated with emotional intelligence. Empathy towards others is a fundamental life skill which enables us to develop and maintain relationships by understanding what another person is feeling from within their frame of reference.
At Pursuit of Growth, we are deeply passionate about nutrition and how it affects mental and physical wellness. Research suggests that what we eat affects not just our physical health, but also our mental health and wellbeing. Food is one of the most powerful tools we have for feeling well and staying healthy but due to the frenetic pace of life many of us tend to grab food or snacks on the go. Our workshops will help you to make better choices, more often.
Our Movement Workshops include Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi or QI Gong. Movement is wonderful for the whole body and provides a chance to exercise the mind and breath. Our Movement Workshops provide a great exercise option for those who prefer non competitive and non judgemental activities. Movement equips us with the tools needed to help us live healthier and happier lives; improving strength, flexibility and posture, providing tools for relaxation and self calming, increasing self confidence and positive self image and developing concentration skills.
The scientific evidence and clinical research that underpins mindfulness is strong and growing. It shows positive effects on several aspects of whole-person health, including the mind, body, behaviour and a person’s relationships with others. Mindfulness can improve sleep quality, increase the ability to manage difficult situations, reduce levels of anxiety and can be especially helpful when dealing with everyday or exam stress. Mindfulness is being used to improve wellbeing and help individuals to learn and concentrate better.
